Then, after check-out, I send a message saying something like, 'I hope you enjoyed your visit to ! If you enjoyed staying at my place, a 5-star review is the best way to thank me and to help others in the AirBnB community have good experiences of their own. I don't check my guests in myself, but in my house rules & information one-sheeter, I write at the bottom, 'If there is anything that would prevent you from leaving me a 5-star review after your trip, please contact me through the AirBnB platform to make it right for you.' This both helps to avoid people giving 4-star reviews without ever coming to me for, and also reminds people to leave a review in the first place. Exactly this! Just ask them ahead of time and remind them at the end.
